Silverstorm Bengals specialize in Bengal cats and they are chosen very carefully from the best American blood-lines, concentrating on their wild confirmation and profile. Snows and Browns are also sometimes available.
The kittens of our Bengal cats are bred for their superb muscular, wild type, stunning leopard markings and rosettes, with extreme contrast. They also have wonderful temperaments and fantastic socialization skills. They are particularly interactive with family members as all kittens are raised as part of the family with my children. They want to be involved in whatever is going on in the household
Bengal cats originate from a deliberate crossing of an Asian leopard cat and a domestic cat. This hybrid breed has been developed over several generations with selective crossbreeding.
The stunning silver colour of our Bengal cats was introduced using out crosses to Silver spotted American Short hairs and they therefore mimic the beautiful Snow Leopard. The Asian Leopard Cat ( Felis Bengalensis) is widespread over Southern Asia and is the same size as a domestic cat, has stunning leopard markings, puffy whisker pads and large nocturnal eyes, looking just like a miniature leopard.
The Bengal cats has the beauty and presence of a leopard cat combined with a loving and domestic nature. They often have dominant personalities and love attention. Generally they love being played with rather than just being a lap cat.
Bengal cats are happy, high-energy cats, interactive, confident, very social, and extremely intelligent, a trait probably inherited from the wild cat's natural selection for survival in the jungle. They are extremely curious. They seem to take an interest in running water and as they are extremely intelligent can be taught tricks such as fetch and shaking hands!
